On 2011-2016 Duramax diesel engines, the fuel filter head location makes it very difficult to get to the fuel filter as the valve cover is in the way. This can make fuel filter servicing jobs take longer than expected, causing unnecessary frustration for simple maintenance work. GM designed a step in the bottom of the can to help with the problem, but it's still very tight, especially with the wires routed close to it.

To help solve this problem, Merchant Automotive has created a solution with this Duramax fuel filter head spacer. This spacer is made from ⅜” aluminum and is designed to move the fuel filter head away from the valve cover. With this new position, it is much easier to use a fuel filter wrench to help remove your fuel filter.

This kit includes an MA fuel filter head spacer and 2 bolts for an easy installation. The MA fuel filter spacer is made from high-quality aluminum and features a black finish with a white MA logo. This gives a great look to your engine bay while providing great functionality. Each spacer is manufactured in house at our US facility using the highest-quality materials available.
